IPTV From Canada TV on a Firestick

A Firestick turns any television with an HDMI port into a smart one. Amazon's store does not carry the players, so the stick first has to be told it may install an app from elsewhere. One setting, done once.

Step 1

Install Downloader

  1. 1From the Fire TV home screen go to Find, then Search.
  2. 2Type Downloader and open the result with the orange arrow icon.
  3. 3Choose Get and wait for the install to finish.

Step 2

Let Downloader install apps

Where the switch lives depends on the age of the stick.

  1. 1Newer sticks: open Settings, My Fire TV, About, and highlight the line naming the stick. Press the select button repeatedly until a message says developer options are on. Back out one screen, open Developer Options and switch on Install unknown apps for Downloader.
  2. 2Older sticks list Developer Options straight away under Settings, My Fire TV. Turn on Apps from Unknown Sources there.
NoteIf Developer Options is nowhere in the menu, the stick has not yet been switched into developer mode. Go back to the About screen and press select on the stick's name again.

Step 3

Load a player and sign in

Open Downloader, enter the app address from your WhatsApp message, and install what it fetches. Any of these three does the job:

Start the player, pick the Xtream Codes login, and type the username, password and server address from your message. Give it a moment and the channels and the guide arrive on their own.

Prefer an app store you can trust? Android boxes and Chromecast take the same players from the Play Store, and a Samsung or LG TV or a Roku needs nothing plugged into it at all. Before you pick one, look through the channel list.
